Hämeenkoski Homeland Museum

The grounds of the museum include the old granary, the Hämäläinen house, the shed building and the modeling of the dugout. The courtyard has not been built in the closed shape typical of the Hämälä courtyard, but the museum buildings have been laid out in an open arc that is more suitable for customer use.

The museum has carried out three extensive cataloging of objects. Cataloging of objects was done for the first time in 1985, when the museum association created new guidelines for the operation of museums. After this, object cataloging and photographing of objects was done at the turn of the 2000st century. At that time, the artefacts were also transferred to the electronic collection system. The latest extensive cataloging of objects, collection digitization and photography was completed at the beginning of the summer of 2021.

The granary designed by architect CL Engel was built in 1856. The premises of the artefact museum operating in the granary have been renovated from roof to floor when the museum was commissioned. At that time, the rotten floors of the granary were completely renovated and several structural improvements were made to the building.

Granary

The object museum is divided into interiors. In the museum, for example, you can find artifacts from the Miehola village store owned by Toivo Maijala and the Putula village store owned by Paavo Pekola. In addition, the shop corner includes unique lemonade-making equipment.

In addition, a linen section, a school section, and a part of the parish's artefacts have been built for the museum. The museum also has various household items on display, such as kiluas and kitchen items, firewood-making tools, ahkio and various handicrafts. The museum also has a few black powder guns from the 1800th century, through which it is possible to get to know the history of hunting as well.

Hämäläinen house

The Hämäläinen house has been donated by Ester and Toivo Siilinmäki. It is the main building of the Mustisto farm built in 1836 in the village of Etola, the owner of Hämeenkoski. Hämäläistalo is decorated in the style of the 1800th century and has three rooms, a guest room, a master's room and a traditional room. The interior built in the house museum adapts to a 1800th-century Hämälä house, and traditional artifacts from that era can be seen there.
