Company story of Muovijaloste Oy
Muovijaloste Oy is a company in the plastics industry specializing in the production of multi-color printed plastic packaging, which was founded as early as 1949. Student Hannu Posti (September 1.9.1926, 20.3.2020 – March 1949, XNUMX) co-founded Muovijaloste Oy in October XNUMX together with his father Hannes Posti and the technical genius of his time, fine mechanic Kyösti Smått, who was bitten by plastic. The trio's achievements were, for example, the first test blowing of a polyethylene plastic film in Finland 1952. Best known as a material for flexible packaging The commercial production of polyethylene film first started in 1954 on Kirkkokatu in Lahti, moving from there via the Vesijärvenkatu office to Hollola's Salpakakkaan Muovitie in 1969, where the operation continues to this day.
Hannu Posti's heart beat for new technology. In post-war Finland, there was a shortage of materials, machines and equipment. It did not discourage Hannu Posti, but on the contrary inspired him to develop and to also build production machines themselves. The development of technology continued, even though he took over the management of Muovijaloste Oy after his father Hannes Posti died unexpectedly in 1964. Hannu Posti's interest in the latest technology, computers and chemistry greatly helped the company's technical development, which has been the key to Muovijaloste's success throughout the company's history. Since the beginning of time, the values of the plastic processing company have been the utilization of the latest technology to meet the needs of customers and flexible, helpful and enthusiastic personnel. The company is a significant part of the development and history of the Finnish plastics industry.
