Hollolan Matkakeidas Oy company story
Hollola's Matkakeidas was built at the junction of the new Vt 12 ring road
"The Hopekallio business area has proven to be a good choice"
Bus station entrepreneurship runs in Rajako's family. Hollola's Matkakeita entrepreneur Aarto Rajako and his wife founded Kausala Matkakeita in 1989. Aarto and his cousin Eero spent practically their entire youth at the gas station.
Vierumäki Matkakeidas, led by Eero and Hanna Asikainen, opened in 2013, and in June 2018 the family's third Matkakeidas was celebrated. Hollola Matkakeidas, owned by Satu and Aarto Rajako, was built at the junction of the VT4 southern ring road, in the Hopekallio business area.
- The planning, construction of Matkakeita and the related authorities' cooperation with the municipality of Hollola went smoothly in all respects. Hopekallio has proven to be a good choice due to its location, says Aarto Rajakko.
In addition to the entrepreneurial couple, Hollola Matkakeidas constantly employs 30-35 employees.
- Almost 200 people applied for jobs for us. The recruitment training implemented in cooperation with the TE Center and the Training Center Salpaus was extremely good. Through that, we got a great and committed group of employees, says Aarto Rajakko.
Popular with professional drivers
In addition to residents of the nearby area and passing traffic, Hollola's Matkakeidas comprehensively serves professional motorists. A sauna and spacious rest areas have been built for them, where motorists can spend their time free of charge.
After the night spent in the cabin of the truck, the drivers go to breakfast as soon as the doors open before continuing their journey. Lunch and dinner are also available from a standing table if the drivers wish.
- Our yard is already getting crowded. More parking spaces are planned, because we believe that the ring road will increase the number of professional motorists and customers who stop on their way past, Aarto Rajakko said.
The Rajakos have cooperated regularly with LADEC's business consultancy throughout their two years of entrepreneurship.
- Corona has somewhat affected the number of customers and thus our business. LADEC's business advisors have been a big help, e.g. in surveying different forms of support and investment financing. The service has been very good, sums up Aarto Rajakko.
