Employment Board
The Employment Board is a joint institution of the municipalities referred to in § 51 of the Municipal Act. The contracting parties of the Päijät-Häme employment area of the cooperation area according to the Act on the Organization of Employment Areas and Labor Services (380/2023) are the municipality of Asikkala, the municipality of Hartola, the city of Heinola, the municipality of Hollola, the municipality of Iiti, the municipality of Kärkölä, the city of Orimattila, the municipality of Padasjoki and the municipality of Sysmä. The board has 13 members and alternate members, who are elected as agreed in the municipalities' cooperation agreement.
The term of office of the board is the first term of the council, according to the cooperation agreement. 1.9.2024 except for the term of office that is about to begin.
The regional director of employment acts as the presenter. When he is prevented or hindered, the person assigned to replace him acts as presenter.
The board is responsible for the statutory duties of the employment authority. 1.1.2025 From. At the time of signing the cooperation agreement, the employment board acts for all contracting municipalities:
- as an employment authority within the meaning of the Act on the Organization of Employment Services (380/2023),
- as a labor authority within the meaning of the Act on the Multidisciplinary Promotion of Employment (381/2023),
- as the labor authority of the Act on the Promotion of Integration (681/2023).
The task of the Employment Board is to ensure compliance with the obligations related to the organization of statutory employment services in accordance with laws and related regulations.
