Student section of the education and welfare committee

The student division of the education and welfare committee functions under the education and welfare committee. The division's task is to decide on the temporary dismissal of the student (Basic Education Act §36) and the organization of special support against the will of the guardian (Basic Education Act §17). The education and welfare committee elects 2 members to the student section and a personal deputy member for each, and names the chairman of the section from among them. The term of office of the student section is two years.

The student section of the education and welfare committee decides

• for giving special support against the will of the guardian
• as a disciplinary punishment for expelling a student for a fixed period (maximum 3 months)

Due to the quality of the matters to be discussed, the student committee meets only when necessary and the decisions are secret to protect the privacy of the parties involved. The agenda and minutes are therefore not published on the municipality's website.
