Participatory budgeting

The youth council is piloting "OSBU" in Hollola

Participatory budgeting, or more familiarly "OSBU", is a method of operation in which the municipality's residents ideas ja are voting on the use of the allocation within the boundary conditions set for it.

Participatory budgeting, or OSBU's appropriation of €20, was allocated to the development of children's and youth's well-being and the living environment. The purpose was to pilot the OSBU process for the first time in Hollola, from which the continuation of the operating model in the municipality will be assessed in the light of the experiences, expertise and accumulated knowledge.

A total of 2023 municipal ideas were submitted to the participatory budgeting pilot in November-December 45, of which 8 proposals were further developed for the voting phase carried out in March, where 282 votes were cast.

  • Things to do in the villages.
  • Breakfast day at schools.
  • Frisbeegolf putt game.

The allocation of participatory budgeting made it possible to spend November Saturdays with domestic children's culture. The idea of "Things to do in the village" was implemented as a movie tour organized by youth services, which went to Herrala, Hämeenkoski, Paimela and the church village of Hollola. A total of approx. 120 municipal residents of different ages.

The breakfast day at schools, on the other hand, was implemented as part of the national Home and School Day on September 27.9.2024, 470. Hollola's basic education and the municipality's food services invited both students and parents to a tasty and healthy breakfast in the spirit of home-school cooperation and waste food week. A total of 1661 parents and XNUMX students participated in the breakfast.

As a third idea, the PuttiNolla game was implemented with the allocated funds in connection with the frisbee golf course in Salpakakka (Opintie 3). The game adapts the rules of the traditional cross zero by tapping on discs. Hollola's youth council has already started thinking about challenging the municipality's decision-makers and office holders to a joint frisbee golf game in Salpakakkai!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Hollola's OSBU pilot and made it possible! Participatory budgeting is one way to promote residents' opportunities to influence and participate in the municipality.
