Learning support in basic education – Veturi

Heinsuo School's Veturi is a form of learning support. In Veturi, students receive group-specific or student-specific support from a Veturi teacher.

The group is intended for students who have challenges in, for example, learning, concentration, coping, or progressing in their studies. Veturi is mainly attended by students in grades 7-9.

When a student needs support, contact the class teacher, student counselor, subject teacher or special needs teacher. A schedule of sessions for Veturi work is usually planned in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Any regular Veturi sessions are recorded in the plan for implementing student-specific support.

The goal is to support students' studies in situations where the student has challenges, for example in learning, concentration, coping, or progressing in their studies.

Veturi is used either as a group-based support activity or to provide pre-planned student-specific support for a student according to a specific period or schedule. Veturi teaching is planned for the student in collaboration with the student counselor, subject teacher, class supervisor and special needs teacher.

The subject teacher of the subject is responsible for the instruction and assessment of the study content. A student may receive short-term support from Veturi, for example in the form of review and supported re-examination due to a failed exam grade.
