The Etap classes are intended for children or young people with psychological symptoms. Before applying for Etap, all forms of support from your own school must have been used. In addition, the student must have a decision on student-specific support before the start of Etap.

Apply for the Etappi class by filling out a separate application form. You can get the form from the special needs teacher at your school in the municipality of Hollola. Applicants from other municipalities should contact Kangas school.

Send the completed form to Kangas School.

There is an ongoing application process for the intermediate classes. Student selections for places that become available in the fall will be made in April.

In the Etapi class, the essential things to teach are:

• Special class teaching – Teaching takes place in a special class with a maximum of 6 students.
• Support and guidance – The teacher is assisted by a well-being tutor (psychiatric nurse) and a school counselor.
• Individualized teaching – A plan for implementing individual support is prepared for each student, taking into account the student's needs and strengths.
• Psychological support – The student's psychological well-being is taken into account during the school day, and a well-being tutor supports the student's school attendance.
• Networking – Etap works closely with families and student networks.
