German A2 language
Last updated: 20.01.2025Starting from the 4th grade of primary school, Vesikansa schools offer the opportunity to study German as a voluntary A2 language for all those who want to study a second long language alongside English. Studying the A2 language lasts until the end of primary education.
Studying an optional language at Kalliola School increases a student's weekly number of hours in primary school by two hours in grades 4-6.
The application for A2 language studies will be carried out in the spring of the 3rd year.
One teaching group is formed for the study and the group size is determined by the Education Board, 20-24 students. The group is established if at least 6 students apply by the deadline. If the number of applicants exceeds the specified group size, students are selected for the class by drawing lots.
The 3rd grade students and guardians of Vesikansa schools will be informed about the application period and how to apply via the Wilma user interface during March.
Priority is given to children living in the municipality.
