Music-focused teaching
Last updated: 22.01.2025Hollola's music-oriented classes from the third to the ninth grade operate at the Salpakangas school. A second-grade student can apply for the music-oriented third grade starting in August at Salpakangas school. Applications will be announced in more detail through Wilma and will be scheduled for the beginning of the year. Only students who live in the municipality are accepted.
In music class, we sing and play, listen, move, play and live with music. The student gets versatile skills to express himself with the help of music, working together with others. Performances are an integral part of the music class program.
Applications for the music class are made using an electronic form via Wilma at the beginning of the year. You will be notified of the start of the application via Wilma.
20-24 students are selected for the music-focused class. Applications for music-focused teaching are accepted on the second
year class. Students are selected based on entrance exams. Entrance exams are held
after the application period ends and will be announced to second-year students at Wilma.
The municipality can also organize one separate joint entrance exam for students applying to the class,
who have been sick on the day of the selection test. Participating in this audition is a prerequisite
a medical certificate presented by the student about the obstacle to participate in the actual entrance exam
Possible supplementary searches for higher year classes are made on the same basis as when selecting for the 3rd year.
In the selection test, the student's tendencies in different areas of music are measured as follows:
Song 10 points
Tone repetition 3 points
Repetition of the theme 13 points
Rhythm repetition 13 points
A total of 39 points
Based on the selection test, 20-24 students are selected in order of merit according to the tests. Chosen
however, the prerequisite for coming is that the applicant has scored at least 20 points in the entrance exam. If 20
there are more than 24 who have achieved points, the selection decision is made as follows: For students with equal points
the selection order is determined based on the score in the vocal section. If in this case we are tied,
next, the repetition of the theme section is decided, and then the lottery.
Possible supplementary searches for higher year classes are made on the same basis as when selecting for the 3rd year.
