Student guidance
Last updated: 20.06.2024The central task of student guidance is to support the student's growth and development in such a way that the student is able to promote his study readiness and social maturity and to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for life planning.
In addition, student guidance connects the school with society and working life. It promotes the realization of justice, equality, equality and inclusion and prevents exclusion from education and working life.
In elementary school, guidance is implemented as an integral part of other teaching and school activities. In the middle school, the main responsibility and coordination of guidance rests with student counselors who work in the schools of Heinsuo, Kankaa and Salpakkanka.
Every student has the right to study guidance during school days

If necessary, all students receive counseling and guidance individually or in small groups in addition to the student guidance hours. In addition, students are guided in the use of various information acquisition tools and counseling and guidance services offered by society.
If a student needs support when applying for further studies after basic education, he has the right to receive, in addition to student guidance, enhanced personal student guidance according to his needs in the 8th and 9th grades.
The focus of enhanced personal student guidance is to develop the student's graduate study readiness and guide the student to graduate studies that suit him.
The need for enhanced personal student guidance is primarily assessed by the student guidance counselor. A postgraduate study plan is made for the student who receives enhanced personal student guidance.
