Are you interested in organizing recreational activities for children and young people? Feel free to contact the coordinators!

Hobby activities based on the Finnish model of hobbies are organized at all nine schools in Hollola. There is also a hobby instructor at the Salpakankaa and Heinsuo central schools, who helps young people without hobbies find meaningful hobbies. The aim is to organize hobby activities extensively and especially based on the wishes of children and young people. You will find many kinds of hobbies in the hobby calendars: a wide range of art and sports, and most recently dance, theater and band activities.
The municipality of Hollola was involved in the development project of the Finnish Hobby Model as a partner with the city of Lahti. The development project focused on supporting hobbies for children and young people with special and demanding special needs. The project produced a guide, which you can access from the link below.

The right to transport students does not extend to club activities, which are voluntary activities outside of school work. The Education and Wellbeing Committee makes a decision on support for voluntary transport annually. For the new semester 2023-2024 and the semester 2024-2025, the decision can be read from the link below the hobby class schedules. For the academic year 2025-2026, the Education and Wellbeing Committee has not made a decision.
