Immigration Services in Holland
The Integration Act (KotoL) strongly guides the municipality's integration work. In Hollola, integration is promoted through collaboration between the municipality, Päijät-Sote (a regional social and healthcare service provider), and other stakeholders. The goal is to develop local-level work that promotes integration in cooperation with various sectors of the municipality and the third sector network. The aim of integration work is to increase the participation and inclusion in Hollola.
The Immigration Coordinator provides consultation on immigration-related matters to various parties. The services are intended for immigrants in the area and individuals working with them, regardless of the reasons or duration of their residence in Finland. The need for integration services is often greatest immediately after moving to Finland. For example, the integration of a refugee with a residence permit into a new municipality typically begins with arranging accommodation, registering with the Local Register Office (DVV), the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela), and the Employment and Economic Development Office (Päijät-Hämeen työvoimapalvelut). Together with the authorities, a plan is made for the necessary additional services for the entire family. However, there may also be a need for guidance at a later stage. In Hollola, the community facilitator, together with the Immigration Coordinator, is responsible for these tasks.

Operating principles
The Integration Act strongly guides the municipality's integration work (KotoL). In Hollola, integration is promoted through cooperation with the municipality, the welfare area, the employment area and other parties. The goal is to develop work promoting integration at the local level, e.g. with the municipality's various industries and the network of operators in the third sector. The goal is to increase the inclusion and agency of those who have moved to the country in Hollola, and to ensure the effectiveness of the municipality's services for all its residents.
Often, the need for services that promote integration is greatest immediately after moving to Finland. For example, the integration of an immigrant with a refugee background who has received a residence permit into a new municipality of residence usually begins with arranging housing in the new municipality of residence, registering with the local registry office, Kela and the services of the employment authority. Together with the authorities, a plan is made of other necessary services for the entire family. However, the need for guidance may also arise at a later stage. In Hollola, a community counselor is responsible for these together with the immigration coordinator.
