Natural monuments

Last updated: 13.09.2023

A tree, a group of trees, a shifting boulder or another similar natural formation which, due to its beauty, rarity, scenic importance, scientific value or other similar reasons, has reason to be especially protected, can be designated as a protected natural monument. A pacified natural monument must not be damaged or destroyed.

The municipality is responsible for calming natural monuments located on privately owned land areas upon application or with the consent of the owner of the area.

You can apply for conservation of a natural monument from the environmental protection authority with a free-form application, which must include a description of the object, location and reasons for applying for conservation. The application can be sent to the address kirjaamo@hollola.fi or by post to Hollola municipality / environmental protection authority, PO Box 66, 15871 Hollola.
