Notification of collection activities to the waste management register
According to Section 100 of the Waste Act (646/2011), an operator planning to professionally collect waste must submit a notification to the municipal environmental protection authority for entry in the waste management register. The notification must be submitted well in advance of the start of collection.
The notification must contain the information necessary for registering the activity in the waste management register about the operator and the activity, such as:
- waste to be collected
- information about waste containers (number, types, sizes, etc.)
- location of reception areas
- measures to prevent harm to health and the environment
The municipal environmental protection authority will enter the notification information into the waste management register.
Do this:
Use the Environmental Administration form to submit a notification. Instructions and a link to the form can be found on the Environmental Administration website: Report waste collection activities
Send the carefully completed registration form by email to the registry office.
The operator must also immediately notify the municipal environmental protection authority if the reported information changes significantly or if the operation is terminated.
