The Päijät-Häme Environmental Weeks will be celebrated from 26.5 May to 8.6.2025 June XNUMX with the theme Sustainable mobility – move slower, breathe more.

In Hollola, Environment Week is celebrated together with all the municipalities of Päijät-Häme. So there are Asikkala, Hartola, Heinola, Hollola, Iitti, Kärkölä, Lahti, Orimattila, Padasjoki and Sysmä.
Come along
During Environment Week, various organizations organize environmentally-related events and activities, such as nature trips, recycling events, lectures or, for example, cleaning tasks.
Poster competition and its theme
We move from place to place every day, so we constantly make choices about how we move. The theme of the year encourages us to think about, among other things, the effects of our mobility choices, to learn about different options, to pay attention to safety, and also to the effects of immobility on well-being and health. A joint poster competition has been organized for the environmental weeks, to which all primary, secondary and high school students in all municipalities of Päijät-Häme are invited. Entries from Hollola must be received at the Hollola Main Library at the Piipahlus Service Point no later than Friday, April 25.4.2025, 16, at XNUMX p.m. The competition entry can be completed using any technology you like. Instructions for participation and contact information can be found in the sidebar.
In all municipalities, a municipal winner to be awarded is selected, and the regional jury selects the poster of the year from all of them. The winners of the competition will be awarded. Exhibitions of the works that participated in the competition will be put together in municipal libraries or similar public spaces, and all works can be seen on the Facebook page of the Environment Week.
Everyone is invited
With the annually changing theme of Environment Week, we want to highlight and increase awareness of issues affecting our common environment. Everyone is welcome to join the Environment Week. You can organize an event or theme day, or participate in events organized by others. It is important to notice how by combining our forces we affect the environment even with small actions. Report your adventure or event to the environment week through your municipality's contact person.
