Water-responsible industrial area: Advisory project for urban water management in the Salpakkanka industrial area

Last updated: 15.10.2025

The overall goal of the project is to reduce the discharge of harmful substances into the environment from the properties of the Salpakakka industrial area. In the project, the information from previous surveys of the industrial area will be compiled and sustainable urban water management guidelines will be compiled for the area, as well as counseling visits will be offered to property owners and operators in the area. The operating model is confirmed for use by the municipality so that it can be duplicated in other industrial areas within the municipality, as well as nationally.

The project is part of the Ministry of the Environment Ahti program and the project has received funding from the program. The total costs approved by the project plan and grant decision are €49 (VAT 000%), of which the grant is €0 (39%). The project is implemented by the municipality of Hollola, and the project is implemented in cooperation with e.g. the ELY center and the Päijät-Häme rescue service. The project implementation period is 1.8.2024 - 30.9.2025.

This project website gathers information about the project's progress, project-related communication and instructions.
