Hollola municipality's climate work

Hollola has been a municipality of Hinku since 2019. Hinku, i.e. carbon-neutral municipalities set themselves a common emission reduction target, and the municipality of Hollola has also done this.

Energy efficiency

Energy efficiency is also a climate change and the municipality has entered into a municipal energy efficiency agreement (KETS) with the Energy Agency.

Hollola's energy efficiency goal: During the contract period 2017 – 2025, 7,5% of the municipality's energy consumption will be reduced. The Hinku goal applies to the entire municipality, but the energy efficiency agreement only applies to the municipal organization, and therefore the municipality challenges all municipal actors to energy talks.

Hollola's climate plan

Hollola's climate plan has been drawn up together with the municipality's personnel, residents and decision-makers, starting in the fall of 2023 and being completed by the end of 2024. The council approved Hollola's climate plan at its meeting on December 9.12.2024, XNUMX. The plans have seven themes: climate management, energy and consumption, sustainable movement, sustainable food system, nature and land use, adaptation to climate change, and communication and environmental education.

The climate plan was prepared in close cooperation with six other municipalities, and the goals of the plans are the common climate goal of the entire province, an 80% emission reduction by 2030 from the 2007 level. Currently, the emission reduction in all of Päijät-Hämee is 50% since 2007.
