Hollola municipality's climate work
Hollola has been a municipality of Hinku since 2019. Hinku, i.e. carbon-neutral municipalities set themselves a common emission reduction target, and the municipality of Hollola has also done this.
Hollola's climate emissions target: 80% emission reduction by 2030 from the 2007 level. By 2023, we have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 48%. Dear Hollola! Emission reduction information can be followed on the website maintained by the Finnish Environment Agency

Energy efficiency
Energy efficiency is also a climate change and the municipality has entered into a municipal energy efficiency agreement (KETS) with the Energy Agency.
Hollola's energy efficiency goal: During the contract period 2017 – 2025, 7,5% of the municipality's energy consumption will be reduced. The Hinku goal applies to the entire municipality, but the energy efficiency agreement only applies to the municipal organization, and therefore the municipality challenges all municipal actors to energy talks.
Hollola's climate plan
The Hollola climate plan has been prepared together with the municipality's staff, residents and decision-makers starting in autumn 2023 and will be completed by the end of 2024. The council approved the Hollola climate plan at its meeting 9.12.2024The plans include seven themes: climate management, energy and consumption, sustainable mobility, sustainable food system, nature and land use, adaptation to climate change, and communication and environmental education.

Currently, the emission reduction in all of Päijät-Hämee is 50% since 2007.
We challenge everyone to join the work for a cleaner tomorrow!
The municipality of Hollola invites all citizens, associations and companies from Hollola to join in achieving the climate goal. A carbon-neutral municipality needs all its actors so that an 80% reduction in emissions and a more stable future in terms of the climate is possible. Many companies in Hollola are already exemplary in climate matters.
